City Wants Monorail Poles to Be Demolished

After breaking the contract with PT Jakarta Monorail (JM), Jakarta Secretary (Sekda) Saefullah asked the monorail pole to be demolished to keep the city beauty. "The poles are not giving benefit to the city. Because there is no progress, we also cannot continue cooperation," he added.
Monorail Project, Ahok Asks for Input from the Attorney GeneralAs known, the monorail project has been postponed since 2007. A total of 90 poles stand along Jalan HR Rasuna Said and Jalan Asia Afrika. Furthermore, the city ever wants to pay the poles but because the price is too expensive, finally the city canceled the plan.
Until today, Ortus Holding, the biggest stakeholder of PT JM and PT Adhi Karya still involved in the price dispute of the pole compensation. PT Adhi Karya asked to pay off as many as Rp 193 billion. Whereas, Ortus just agreed to pay Rp 130 billion.
The Development and Financial Supervisory Board (BPKP) was also involved to do price prediction in accordance with S. Jakarta States Court (PN) decision in 2012, the ownership status of the poles is still owned by PT Adhi Karya.
In 2010, BPKP audited the pole construction process that is worked by PT Adhi Karya since 2004 to 2007. From the audit process, BPKP mentioned the project was in accordance with the agreement of both parties.
For that, BPKP assessed the overal price of 90 poles as much as USD 14,8 million. To get better measurement, PT Adhi Karya with Ortus Holdings agreed to rent the independent appraisal, KJPP Ami Nurwan Alfiantori (ANA).
From the KJPP ANA, they assessed the price of Rp 193 billion. Finally, the both parties have met and agreed the price of Rp 190 billion.
General Director of PT Jakarta Monorail, Sukmawati Syukur said, the poles have been seized by PT Adhi Karya. So the demolition process is the authority of PT Adhi Karya. "The poles have been seized by PT Adhi Karya, not belong to us anymore," said Syukur.
